Cookie Policy

1. What cookies do

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Grenova uses a limited set of cookies to remember a consent choice and to support reliable site operation. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

2. Session cookies

Session cookies may support navigation and security during a visit. They normally expire when the browser session ends. They do not contain a name, email address or payment information.

3. Preference cookie

The cookie named grenova_consent records whether a visitor has responded to the cookie notice. It may remain for 365 days and can be removed through browser settings. Removing it may cause the notice to appear again.

4. Analytics

Grenova does not place optional analytics cookies by default. If this changes, the policy will name the provider, explain the purpose and request consent where required. No optional tool is enabled merely because a visitor reads an article.

5. Browser controls

Most browsers allow visitors to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may affect a small number of preferences, but the editorial pages remain readable. Browser help pages explain the controls for each device.

6. Consent

The banner offers acceptance, rejection and settings information. A choice is voluntary for optional cookies. The date of this policy review is 9 September 2026.

7. Third parties

Embedded services, such as a map on the contact page, may set their own technical files when loaded. Those services operate under their own policies. Visitors can avoid loading an embedded map by not opening the contact page.

8. Retention

The consent preference lasts 365 days unless deleted sooner. Server logs connected with delivery and security may be kept for up to 90 days. These periods may change when an incident requires a documented review.

9. Cookie inventory

The current site is designed to use a small, functional inventory. The grenova_consent cookie is a preference cookie with a lifespan of 365 days. A short-lived session cookie may be used by the hosting environment or security layer and normally expires when the browser session ends.

10. Managing consent

Visitors can reject optional cookies through the banner or remove stored files through browser settings. A rejection does not prevent access to the editorial pages. If a visitor clears browser data, the site may not remember the previous choice and the notice may appear again.

Consent records are retained for up to 365 days so that Grenova can respect a visitor’s preference without displaying the notice on every visit. The record is not used to infer interests or create a personal advertising profile.

11. Embedded content and international processing

The contact page includes a map supplied by Google Maps, which may request resources and set technical files when the embed loads. Those files are controlled by Google under its own terms and privacy information. Visitors who do not want the map service to load can avoid opening the contact page or use the written address instead.

Some providers may process technical information outside the UK. Grenova relies on an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards where required and limits the information shared to the purpose for which the provider is engaged.

12. Questions, complaints and review log

Questions about cookies can be sent to [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge a query within five working days and provide a substantive response within 20 working days. A complaint may also be raised with the Information Commissioner’s Office if the issue is not resolved.

13. Practical browser examples

On a desktop browser, cookie controls are usually available under privacy or site settings. On a mobile device, the same controls may appear under the browser’s site permissions or data management menu. The exact labels differ between browsers, so visitors should consult the help information for their chosen device.

Deleting cookies does not delete information held in a separate newsletter or correspondence system. Those requests should be made through the contact details in the privacy policy.

9. Named cookie inventory

The preference cookie used by Grenova is named grenova_consent and may remain for 365 days. It records the response to the cookie notice rather than a person’s reading interests. A hosting or security layer may also create a short-lived session identifier that expires when the browser session ends.

Where an embedded map loads, Google may place technical files under its own service rules. Grenova does not control the name or lifespan of those files, so visitors should consult Google’s current information if they choose to load the map. No optional analytics cookie is enabled by default on the editorial pages.

10. Consent records and withdrawal

A consent response is kept for up to 365 days so the banner does not repeatedly interrupt the same browser. Visitors can withdraw or change a preference by deleting the cookie, revisiting the settings control where available or changing browser permissions. Clearing browser storage may cause the notice to appear again because the previous choice is no longer available.

Consent records are not used to infer sensitive interests or create a personal advertising audience. If a visitor contacts Grenova about a consent issue, the correspondence is handled under the Privacy Policy and is normally retained for up to 12 months after closure.

11. International transfers and provider roles

Some technical providers may process browser or request information outside the United Kingdom. Where a transfer occurs, Grenova relies on an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards, and limits the information shared to the provider’s technical purpose. Provider practices may change, so the relevant provider notice should also be consulted.

The website host supports delivery and security, while the map provider supplies the optional embedded map. Grenova does not permit either service to use the cookie preference as a substitute for the visitor’s own browser settings.

14. Practical browser guidance

Deleting a browser cookie does not delete newsletter or correspondence records held separately. Those records are addressed through the rights process in the Privacy Policy. A browser setting may also affect other websites, so visitors should review the selected scope before confirming a deletion.
